Responsibilities

About the role:

The Monitoring Analyst is responsible for support of the centralized Thermo Fisher Enterprise Monitoring tools. This responsibility includes participating in the design, configuration, development, and documentation of these monitoring tools. They will ensure that we are crafting solutions to identify exceptions to normal performance of the applications, and infrastructure in the cloud (AWS), and/or on premise. They will ensure we deliver a high quality solution with and timely alerts, and notifications.

Will you play a role in implementing, and supporting, a long term, global, monitoring strategy which may employ new, and currently owned monitoring products and/or support structure?

Are you a creative individual who can develop efficient monitoring solutions and develop proven processes in order to avoid service interruptions and reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR)?

Key Responsibilities

-Provide support of Monitoring tools including Datadog, HP Operations Manager (OpenView), Business Service Manager, SolarWinds, Business Process Monitor.
-Align IT Monitoring Tools with the infrastructure operational processes globally to meet divisional and corporate IT mandates and standards, business needs, applicable regulatory requirements, agreed upon service levels, as well as initiatives and projects.
-Implement metrics to demonstrate compliance with agreed service levels and team / individual contributions.
-Tackling new opportunities and challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and passion.
-Lead the implementation of infrastructure projects and initiatives

Requirements

Qualifications

-The successful candidate for this position will possess the following combination of education and experience:
-Experience with Infrastructure Monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Micro-focus, Datadog – Preferred)
-Experience participating with a global, enterprise monitoring implementation
-Able to translate technical requirements into clear and concise descriptions that are understandable for a broad audience
-Self-motivated, with key strengths in initiative and teamwork
-Preferred Experience in an object-oriented programming language (Python, Java or PowerShell – Preferred
-Ability to craft meaningful dashboards, logging, and alerting responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively

Work Schedule

-Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM Local Time
-May be required to work after-hours and weekends as needed
-On call coverage required
-Minimal travel
