You will be reporting to the Head of Marketing (Central Europe) and be a part of a high performing team. We have significantly more category influence than our market shares would dictate, so require individuals who can quickly build rapport internally and externally.
Internally this position is as the expert in the category, providing the business with guidance on changing category & shopper dynamics and working cross-functionally to develop initiatives to realise optimal outcomes from these.
Externally the function would build long-lasting relationship with our key customers to deliver strategic objectives for the category and our brands.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning (External)
• Develop clear recommendations that include customer/category performance, range, distribution, space & fixture layout recommendations, promotion advice & pricing insight. Deliver this through best-in-class, engaging fact-based retailer presentations with clear rationale & size of prize for all recommendations then follow-up to ensure these recommendations land.
• Work across the top five customer base to fully understand each retailer strategy and how Edgewell can leverage our category vision to create a win/win situation that will grow the category and benefit our business.
• Develop compelling arguments that influence customer plans on ranging, merchandising, promotion, and shopper communication.
• With customers, co-develop and run in-store trials to identify better ways to win at fixture, give shoppers a better experience and grow the category.
Strategy & Planning (Internal)
• Be the expert on the category and ensure the wider business is being kept abreast of current market conditions, trends, and key competitor activities.
• Identify issues and opportunities in the category (pricing, promotion, NPD, activation etc.) and co-develop winning strategies around these with Marketing and Commercial.
• Analyse available syndicated data, draw conclusions / provide recommendations, provide monthly or quarterly reports to the business
Requirements
Ultimately the role requires a curious, data driven and highly analytical individual who can turn multiple data points into coherent arguments, that they can then deliver in a simple and concise way that will resonate well with their audience.
Ideally you will have lots of Category experience within a commercial, consumer goods or FMCG business. You must have very good English language skills.
Here’s what we are looking for:
• Category Management experience either within Personal Care or wider FMCG environment.
• Understanding of consumer / shopper Insights with experience of working with consumer data sources e.g., Nielsen, Kantar Worldpanel, retailers scanned data etc.
• Excellent computer skills, including spread sheet, database, and presentation software. Experience with JDA space planning is nice to have.
• Experience of developing customer relationships with positive outcomes will be a plus
• Preferably a university degree or equivalent in commercial related subject, but not essential.
• Fluent in English with good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills a must.
